Closed for the Season

Though the Winooski Farmer's Market is closed for the season, you can still purchase beautiful, hand-crafted Treehugger Woodworks' one-of-a-kind, original utensils at Home, a gallery on Shelburne Road in South Burlington.  Home is a new gallery featuring local wood, fiber, and glass crafts, as well as local foods and art.  Treehugger will be showing one last time at a holiday craft fair in Jeffersonville.  Then it'll be "see you in June!"

Winooski Farmer's Market Ends...

The WFM has come to an end for the season.  Our experience was terrific, the people, the vendors, the organizers...we made a lot of nice friends, met neighbors, and enjoyed all of the lovely feedback from customers and admirers.  What's next for Treehugger?  There may be a gallery in Shelburne that will be showing Dan's work...?  There may be a booth at an upcoming holiday craft fair...?  While the future is unclear, the past 4 months have been a wonderful learning experience and a terrific opportunity to show the world what Treehugger Woodworks has to offer.  Thank you to all of our supporters, customers, well-wishers, neighbors, fellow WFM vendors, Erica and Rosebud-delicious, Wyatt and JoJo, and family and friends who have supported us.

October Fest Next Sunday

Next Sunday, the 2nd to last of the season, will be Octoberfest!
Mom will be joining us and, unfortunately, the weather outlook is not particularly rosy.
We have had quite an amazing run of lovely Sundays...it's been a terrific season!

Glorious Sun!

Yet another sun-soaked Sunday in Vermont!
The Winooski Farmers' Market keeps getting better.  After taking last weekend off to catch up with the fellas, today was one of the most pleasant days at the market.  The weather was virtually perfect and the scene was relaxed and easy-going.  With only 3 remaining Sundays, thoughts turn toward the market season coming to an end.  What a wonderful and exciting and educational experience this has been.  I appreciate all of the kind words and support I have received - thank you!

Irene-d Out

With the impending storm, the powers that be have wisely canceled tomorrow's market.
Stay dry!  See you next Sunday!

Spatulas Galore!

Dan has spent the week preparing a wide variety of spatulas for this Sunday's market.
There will quite a few solid wood, offset spatulas of ash and walnut.  Also many new laminated spatulas made with a variety of species - each one unique and interesting.
Finally, by request, Dan has made a couple of white oak back scratchers that are fun and functional.  Come by the booth and see all of the new items available from Treehugger Woodworks, and of course, say hello to the beautiful and terribly-two Rosebud Delicious.

What a Day Sunday the 14th Was!

The rain held off - despite the 60% chance forecasters were giving us - and it was actually quite a beautiful day.  Treehugger Woodworks had it's most successful day at the Winooski Farmer's market thus far, and the feedback continues to be supportive, admiring, and helpful.  Look for more birch vases, laminated, offset spatulas, and perhaps back-scratchers (by request) at upcoming market Sundays.  As always, the lovely Rosebud will be in attendance for the first 1/2 of the day, stop by the booth and check us out.

Another Beautiful Sunday...

...is awaiting us tomorrow - the Farmers' market is becoming a Sunday tradition - Lila looks forward to it every week because it's so much fun for her (and Mommy and Daddy, too).
Tomorrow's special guests: Mom and Will, GAL and GUB (Great Aunt Lynn and Great Uncle Bill) will join us for market's opening, then they'll hit the road for points South.
Hope to see you tomorrow!

Market Day!

Sundays we can be found at the market in front of the Champlain Mill.
Our booth is right next to the Skinny Pancake's, come on by and check out the gourmet kitchen tools hand made by Dan.
Each Sunday has been progressively more successful in terms of items sold.  Even when they don't buy something, folks who stop by the booth have lots of nice things to say about Dan's work, the beautiful Rosebud, and how polished the operation is (thanks to our business manager, Erica).  Based on the success of this market, Treehugger Woodworks might be looking to get a booth at other venues - we'll keep everyone apprised of our locations, etc...on this website.  Last Sunday we had a special guest: Mr. Anthony "Fats" D'Andrea.  Next Sunday (the 24th) our special guests will be Lara, Rachel, and Hannah - AKA the Gatz Girls.  The following Sunday (the 31st) will be Aunt Lynn and Uncle Billy and Mom and Will.
Hope to see you tomorrow (the 17th).

Second Sunday (with a visit from Shumlin)

Our second Sunday came with a visit from our state's Governor, Peter Shumlin.
Touring the Winooski Farmer's Market's official "Grand Opening," Governor Shumlin stopped by our booth to wish us well and take a look.  While he did not purchase a Treehugger Woodworks original during this visit, he did tell me he'd come back some time and help support our fledgeling business. Also from Montpelier, Vermont Agriculture Secretary Chuck Ross. Another fun and interesting Sunday in Winooski.  Hope to see you next Sunday!

Part of the Family...

...the Winooski Farmer's Market family, that is.
Sunday the 26th was a terrific introduction to the Market and all of the interesting people who visit.  Dan sold a 3-species laminated spatula (which happened to be the most commented-upon piece he was displaying - it's the first picture on the "Kitchen Wares" page), got lots of wonderful feedback about his work, and met a few people who requested custom work.
The Market place is a great venue to meet neighbors, make connections, and show off hand made woodwork and beautiful daughters.
See you next Sunday!
